Simmer pots

Picture
Simmer pots incorporate all four elements, making them not only green witchcraft, but also elemental magick.  You fill your pot with water, use herbs/spices from the earth, heat the ingredients with fire, and the steam rises into the air.
Certain aromas can stimulate our olfactory system and trigger memories of a particular place or event and the feeling evoked by that experience. You can use this to your advantage in spellcrafting, setting the stage for a certain spell or ritual with a simmer pot by using the scent to get into the right state of mind.  A simmer pot is basically a homemade air freshener.  Stir counter clockwise to banish, and clockwise to set intentions.
My first simmer pot (seen above) and a favorite...

Apples: abundance
Oranges: success, protection
Bay Leaves: protection
Cinnamon Stix: protection, prosperity, banishing, healing
Rosemary: protection, healing, mental clarity
Basil: financial prosperity, protection, happiness
Rose Petals: (Queen of flowers) abundance, protection, healing, happiness
Lavender: (Women's Herb) protection, happiness, relaxation, peaceful thoughts
Salt: protection
Mint: financial prosperity
