Cyn's Animal Experience
This male arrived with multiple scabs and bite wounds... in weeks I had him healed up and got a full perfect shed!
I was also told that he's supposedly a "finicky eater"... but he ate for me within a week of arrival and is already on a steady schedule eating weekly for me, so I guess he just needed the extra love... he's become quite the Momma's boy! Lesser Huffman Pewter "Constantine" |
Herpetology Related:
- Raised pet amphibians and reptiles since a young child.
- Interest in snakes heightened in teen years, leading especially to a fascination with ball pythons, and now their various morphs.
- Experience going out "herping" in spare time, searching the Missouri area for native herps, mainly snakes.
- Familiar with reptile technical skills, like injections. For example: fluids in a chameleon, or antibiotics in aquatic turtles.
- Can recognize and treat reptile mites. (Mites are a headache for any pet owner but at least they're species specific!)
- Rescued many amphibians/reptiles over the years from people that didn't understand proper care.
- Oldest snake I've had, (acquired from a SLU doctor when he become ill) reached over 21 years old!
- Currently have rescue leopard geckos that are in their twenties... I'm their third owner and by the time they reached me they were both basically blind, but I've had them since 2014 and they're still a couple of cricket munching machines!
- Has raised rodents specifically as feeders for snakes, but also familiar with frozen/thawed methods.
- Been bitten by all kinds of animals, in my opinion, non-venomous snake bites are easiest to take LOL!
- Worked with reptiles/amphibians in the wild, as pets, and in the research setting.
The simple beauty that is a full clean shed!
Snake bites (Non-Venomous) really aren't that bad! ;)
