First time I decided to make my own homemade energy cleansing spray, I came up with an idea for a recipe after realizing so many of my friends and coworkers were dealing with a lot of bad juju and drama in their lives. I wanted to create a energy cleansing spray that could be used anywhere, without smoke, so that I could bring good vibes back to everyone's lives! You can't always smoke cleanse in places like offices, or around certain types of people. I went home that evening to my apothecary & garden, and created a wonderful mixture that was so well received the next day, that I found myself making a whole batch for others the following weekend, during the New Moon.
Specific intentions go into every aspect of creating these sprays. The table area for bottle preparation was cleansed with Florida water and incense before anything else began. An altar cloth was placed down, along with five amethyst crystals at the points of the elements and the Spirit. Green amethyst and a Santa Muerte statue were also arranged. (Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte, Spanish for “Our Lady of Holy Death” and often shortened to Santa Muerte, is a female deity, and is said to be a beloved saint of dispossessed peoples. Though she is a personification of death, she is also associated with protection, healing, and safe delivery to the afterlife. She is a deity for any that may need her.) The area was then smoke cleansed again with incense and a special bell rung three times, a form of sound cleansing. Especially when making cleansing sprays, you have to make sure the energy around the area is clear for your intentions to be set later on!
The energy cleansing spray itself is made with infused moon water. This moon water was charged under the Strawberry Full Moon on June 3rd. This Full Moon happened to be in action-driven Sagittarius. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign that only wants to focus on the positives; this encourages all signs to be optimistic as they take on new conquests and finally follow their goals. Sagittarius also wants you to face your fears and look at issues with confidence. It is time to take action, but with a smile on your face! Think Bad Bitch Energy! You are stronger than you know!
Infused into this charged moon water was fresh garden sage, rosemary, and English lavender straight from my own home garden. My plants are lovingly cared for and always thanked for their harvests. Sage was chosen as it is the herb most commonly thought of for cleansing purposes; why so many people tend to just say they are going to “sage their home.” Sage is said to bring good luck, be used for protection, prosperity, to guard over the home, and to help those seeking knowledge or guidance. Even when you think of a “sage” as a person, what comes to mind is, “wide experience, great learning, and wisdom.” Next, I chose rosemary because it is the herb that I personally use most when smudging my own home and possessions. Rosemary is about protection and purification; it wards off negative energies and evil. It is also known to have a healing energy. Last, but certainly not least, was lavender; my all-time favorite herb. I like to use lavender whenever and wherever I can! In this case, I specifically chose it because it is known as the “women’s herb.” Lavender brings peaceful thoughts, relaxation, and happiness, while also being used for protection.
Once the moon water was infused with the sage, rosemary, and lavender, it was added to the bottle with a fresh piece of each of those main three herbs. In the bottle I also slipped: three dried chamomile flowers (again grown, harvested, and dried all by me. Chamomile represents peace, healing, and abundance), vodka to preserve the mixture (this was an organic vodka brought back from Hawaii by my Mum and gifted to me), three crystals, and a cat whisker! You may have noticed the number three used often here, this is because it is my lucky number, as well as associated with one of my spirit guides, Hecate. Now, the cat whiskers are extra special because not only do they bring good luck, but they amplify any spells, can be used for manifesting, for hiding from enemies, and even for astral journeys! These whiskers were found around my home, provided by either my black cat, Stevie Nicks, or my Maine coon, River Song.
In each bottle, the trio of crystals does vary… Every bottle has a rose quartz chip for self-love, and a crystal quartz chip for clarity and to amplify all the contents within the bottle, but the last crystal differs… Which will you get?
Amethyst: Cleansing, protection, inspiration. Can evoke feelings of serenity and calmness in those who wear it. Amethyst activates spiritual awareness: This precious stone has outstanding healing and cleansing powers. It does this by opening intuition and enhancing psychic abilities of a person. Amethyst is often used during meditation to provide an overall sense of spiritual balance.
Carnelian: Rids apathy, indolence, passivity, envy, and fear. Increases physical energy, personal power, and creativity. Connects with and brings inspiration from Spirit Worlds. Healing for body organs; brings vitality to the healing process.
Citrine: Dissipates and transmutes negative energy. Brings and maintains wealth. Dispels fear while bringing happiness. Helpful in education, business, and interpersonal relations. Helps with mental focus.
Obsidian: Reflection of one’s flaws and a clear picture of changes necessary to eliminate them. Excellent grounding and protective stone. Shields against negativity, disperses unloving thoughts from within oneself, and can help with healing.
Smoky Quartz: Penetrates and dissolves negative thoughtforms, anger, and resentment. Excellent grounding stone and can create a protective energy barrier around the user. Provides protection when contacting other worlds, and clarity in thought/focus in meditation.

The Six “Limited Edition” Energy Cleansing Sprays (with -ethically sourced, fallen- cat whiskers) were created on 6/18/23, on a New Moon. Pink candles were lit as the water was infused with the chosen herbs and bottles filled. Pink candles are a representation of the New Moon; I light a pink candle every New Moon. Plus, pink represents love; the love that went into creating these special smudge sprays, and the self-love everyone could use more of! I chose to create these on the New Moon because it is often seen as an introspective time where we plant the seeds of our future. It is all about new beginnings as you set clear intentions, clarify your goals, start new projects, and acknowledge the growth you’ve made.

What's next?
Since cat whiskers are hard to come by, it's not something I can feasibly have in every energy cleansing spray I create. This is part of why my first batch was considered to be "Limited Edition" featuring my own cat's fallen whiskers for good luck and more. Plus these six bottles were created during the evening of the New Moon.
The second batch is nearly as amazing; another lovely blend of sage, rosemary, and lavender infused into charged moon water. Some even have the cat whisker, all the same aspects of creation as used above with the first batch, except not created on the New Moon. Still created with loving intention and attention to every little detail!
