I do not practice Reiki or play sound bowls or other instruments myself, but I know an incredible woman that does!

On what to expect during a Sound Session & How to benefit most:
To receive the most from each session, it’s important to understand the why behind it all. Take a minute to read this, and when you arrive at the session, you will have a better idea of what is going to take place.
Exposure to Sound Vibration has amazing transformational effects on the mind, body, and emotions. During the session, your body will enter into the THETA healing state where self-healing is optimized. Medical studies reveal that a 20min. sound vibration session can be equivalent to an 8-hour night of restful sleep. Our biology, energy & mental state all shift into higher frequencies, and we feel the calmness and heightened feelings of bliss and peace. Sound healing is one of the most ancient and unique rituals in the world. Since the time before written language, it has been used to treat wounds - physical, mental, and spiritual.
Singing Bowls, the gong and other sound vibration instruments have an incredible calming effect on the central nervous system because the receptors of our cells respond instantly to frequencies. Sound frequencies can change the physical, emotional, and spiritual structures of our bodies.
Sound-work offers such a wide range of experiences, an invitation to open your perceptual gates to perceive through all body sensations. The instruments I will be using offer vibration and calming waves for reclaiming our feeling sense of the natural world around us. Our bodies are an electric concert of pulsating vibrational frequencies and dynamic rhythmic patterns that move with our emotions and shift with each thought affecting our physical bodies. This sound is so abstract, so unique that the human mind is unable to associate it with anything familiar, it has to surrender. In this state of ‘surrender’ the healing takes place, the stress is melted away, worries vanish, and often a deeper awareness of self rises up where one feels a connection to larger aspects of themselves.
Sound sessions can also open up new levels of consciousness and awareness within the body and mind. It is my intention to offer a gentle submersion into the sounds, as if you were floating along gentle and serene waters or drifting on a fluffy cloud with a gentle breeze. From there, we will begin the descent into deeper waves of resonance, taking your whole being along for the ride. However, depending on where you are at, any given time, it may not be possible to descend in this most gentle manner. Perhaps the thinking mind stays more active, or you feel more restless at a particular time. Do not judge how you feel during the process. It is all okay and exactly perfect for you. Everyone’s experience is different, depending on what your body needs at the moment or where you are on your spiritual journey.
Attending sound sessions and other healing or spiritual modalities on a regular basis will help you achieve peace. When at peace, you are healthier, your mind works better, you are more emotionally stable, and you gain access to higher energies and Spirit. The more this becomes the norm, the more powerful you are in all areas of your life. So, relax, and let the sound take you on a journey.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It's based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” that flows through our bodies. A Reiki practitioner gently moves their hands just above or on the client’s clothed body, with the intention of reducing stress and promoting healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy. Reiki is now used by a growing number of Americans who believe it helps with relaxation, anxiety, pain management, and depression.
The Reiki belief system is that they don’t cause the healing, nor are they the source of that healing energy; they’re a channel for the energy. The word “Reiki” is a combination of two Japanese words: “rei,” which means “God’s wisdom,” or “the higher power,” and “ki,” which means “life force energy.” Ki is the life force energy that animates all living things. Put together, and “rei” and “ki” mean “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Reiki is taught according to the Japanese tradition of the sensei (teacher), who passes the knowledge to the student through attunement, an initiation ceremony that is thought to help open the student’s energy channels to facilitate the flow of healing energy, and potentially help improve health, according to past research. Once opened, these channels remain accessible to the practitioner for the rest of their life.
It’s not a religion and is not associated with religious practice. Reiki is taught at three levels. First-level practitioners can practice on themselves or others through light touch; second-degree practitioners can practice distance healing; and third-degree or master level practitioners can teach and initiate others into Reiki.
Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being. It can: bring on a meditative state, foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery, stimulate your body’s immune system, promote natural self-healing, relieve pain and tension, and support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis.
What does reiki feel like?
You may experience the energy in the form of sensations like heat, tingling or pulsing where the Reiki practitioner has placed their hands. Sometimes, people feel sensations moving throughout the body, while other people do not perceive any change at all. Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful during reiki treatment, and many fall asleep during the process. Some people experience visions as their brain waves change in relation to sound therapy used during reiki.
